Well I'M making the switch in Flash from ActionScript 2 to ActionScript 3. So far its seems to be truly fascinating and I believe a great enhancement. Millions of articles have already been written by far worthier scripters than myself, but I have to say there are some great essential leaps that have been made. User created objects is a great addition and opens up the a whole new arena.
I'm using a great book Learning AS3 by Rich Shupe - http://tinyurl.com/cd8g43 - and obviously numerous on line resources...
I'm also upgrading to CS4. I'll let you know how I get on.
Shupe also has a CS4 book out now (or close to it) called Learning Flash CS4 Professional. It's designed to be a companion to LAS3 so it is exactly the same format/design/style, etc. I was a volunteer beta reader and it is awesome. I was really surprised how much more quality info it had in it over any other CS4 book--probably because it's coming out after the software was released.
ReplyDeleteThanks anon... Liking CS4 So far. Still a few bugs to iron out. I'll check out the book, I really like the layout of the info he supplies. I always find it a dilemma. Don't try and fix something that isn't broken... but always temted to upgrade...
